Last night we all sat down and had a family meeting at Soulmate's house in KD.
Oh how time flies... tinggal se-bulan jer lagi. Life is busy and getting busier all the time, kan? And so our mother are VERY nervous + worry towards the big day. So many things to prepare yet so little time. I was glad that Soulmate's mother called for a meeting to discuss on the wedding details.
We arrived around 8:30 pm. This is my family's second meeting with Soulmate's family after the merisik ceremony somewhere around July this year. So meeting starts by discussing the akad nikah.. how many people should they bring along, what time should they arrive, how should the engagement ceremony be, where are we going to held the akad nikah, what is our plan B, how many dulang hantaran as at todate.
And the discussion continues to next day event which is the kenduri. Siapa akan iringi pengantin, siapa akan duduk dengan pengantin di meja beradab, siapa akan jadi event manager, siapa akan jadi mc, tukang baca doa, receptionist, penunjuk jalan, tukang bagi bunga telur, siapa akan pantau buffet station, etc etc etc...
Some of you yang masih new to this blog mungkin tertanya. Kenapa lak pihak lelaki sebok nak tau persiapan belah perempuan? Actually Soulmate and I plan to combine receptions. or in other words, two events at one time. Kalau boleh dikira macam tu la.
Soulmate and I lebih banyak mendengar daripada bersuara. Mungkin kami terkejut, because we did not expect that kind of details. Oh yeah, wedding bukan benda main-main. Serious business indeed.
I was glad certain issues were ironed out. Tinggal lagi sikit2 nak kena decide one day before the kenduri itself.
Now I can imagine 2 days before the big day.. mesti huru hara. Relatives start coming, nak kena amik baju from bridal + last fitting, pakai henna that night, pick up cake + sirih junjung + gubah hantaran buah, pasang langsir, tukar cadar baru, kemas rumah, bubuh telur pada bunga telur, masak untuk akad nikah.
Oh banyak nyer...
